Coach Hobbs graduated from Texas Tech University in 1999 with a Master’s Degree in Athletic Administration and later earned his Texas Teacher Certification in 2003. While at Texas Tech, he played on the men’s soccer team which won the NIRSA Club National Championship in 1997 and finished as National Champion Runner-up in 1998 and 1999. During his playing career at Texas Tech, Coach Hobbs left as the all-time leading scorer and was voted to the National All-Tournament team two consecutive years.
From 2000-2002, Coach Hobbs was the head women’s soccer coach at Wayland Baptist University. He spent two years in charge of building the new program to compete in the Sooner Athletic Conference of the NAIA. While coaching at Wayland Baptist, he also earned his National Coaching License from the United States Soccer Federation.
After leaving WBU, he spent 2002-2004 working as an assistant coach with the women’s soccer team at Texas Tech University. During this time he worked with student-athletes from around the country in one of the most competitive soccer conferences in the nation.
Coach Hobbs is married to his wife, Lindsey. They have twin boys, Finley and Grayson.
